Happy Birthday Gringo Tuesdays

By bogotapost May 16, 2014

GT_PIX 1La Villa’s Gringo Tuesdays celebrated their 3rd Birthday this month, with hundreds of revellers gathering to join in the fun.

Travis Crockett, the man behind Gringo Tuesdays said “It was so great to celebrate with and to say thank you to so many people who have supported our event and our crazy Gringo idea for 3 years. It was a bit like celebrating with my ex-pat family.”

Asked about the secret behind their success, he explained that his experiences of travelling had shown him that the best experiences involve the people you meet along the way – and that the event is an extension of that concept.

“We have worked hard to make Gringo Tuesdays a place where people from all walks of life can meet and get to know other people, their cultures and their languages and then share in the experience of an awesome party with people they have just met. It is a pretty unique experience.”

He added, “It is a great place to meet fellow expats and create a support network as well as meet Colombians and get to understand their culture in more depth. Learning Spanish can be one of the biggest challenges for new arrivals, so the language exchange is very important in that respect.”

The team are looking at expanding at the moment and hope to be able to take same experience to other parts of Colombia and beyond.
