Bogota’s biggest annual musical event Festival Estereo Picnic returns for its sixth edition from March 12 to 14. It’s grown massively since beginning in 2010 with Matisyahu and Bomba Estereo as its biggest acts. Last year’s festival boasted the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies and more, and this year also sees a clutch of international superstars arriving in Colombia for the event.
Thursday evening will see performances from The Kooks, Foster The People and original White Stripe Jack White on the main stage. Friday the 13th will be a lucky day for those with tickets to see local rock heroes Aterciopelados and DJ Diplo’s Major Lazer project, as well as Damian Marley, Kasabian and Kings of Leon.
The event will close off on Saturday with Systema Solar following Andres Calamaro, the ex-leader of Los Rodriguez, who himself will follow Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.
The festival’s rapid growth has also seen the event extended from two to three days, with last year’s version seeing the festival take on the extra day for the first time.
Of course there are dozens more acts on the bill to fill the three stages for three days, so check out the website at www.festivalestereopicnic.com/2015 for full details.
At time of writing, tickets are still available for $329,000 COP per day, or $552,000 COP for all three days.
