Magic realism translates to magic prices

Avianca ProColombiaAs part of ProColombia’s new ‘Colombia is magical realism’ campaign, Avianca are offering discount flights to Colombia from a wide range of international destinations, as well as domestic flights within Colombia.

The scheme, which aims to make the country more accessible to travellers, will offer promotional fares for travel from 48 cities in America and Europe to 25 Colombian destinations. These destinations have been chosen based on their diversity and beauty and to cater for a range of tastes – from whale watching and diving, to beaches and sites of archaeological and cultural significance.

The discounts apply to flights before May 2016 and are being made available in different regions at different times: Latin America (September 1-10), North America (September 7-16) and the UK (September 7-20).

The promotion is aimed to help those whose income revolves around tourism such as hotels, travel agencies and restaurants, especially in the low season when income levels are less predictable.  In 2014, tourism ranked as the second largest foreign exchange activity for the country after mineral and fuel exports.

Given the weakening of the peso, tourists will be able to make the most of low prices, while at the same time providing a vital boost to the country’s economy.
